What To Expect

Journey Behind the Falls
Journey Behind the Falls is a year-round attraction that offers an unique view of the Falls from below and behind.

Visitors descend 150 ft. by elevator, where a short tunnel (150 ft.) gives access to two outdoor observation decks and two portals located directly behind the Falls. At Journey Behind the Falls, you`ll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below. During summer daylight hours, over 2,800 cubic meters of water thunders over the brink every second, travelling 65 kilometers per hour!

Your Journey Behind the Falls visit will take 30 to 45 minutes and in the spring and summer months, you`ll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels that lead and to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal which is one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Then you walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. Posters of information are a great resource of information about the history and evolution of the hallways you walk through. Journey Behind the Falls is an iconic Niagara Falls experience, make sure you take a waterproof camera. (tickets available to purchase)

An amazing way to close out your itinerary for the evening

The Night-time Fireworks cruise is amazing. You get to take a trip around the falls, and then doc for the fireworks display and watch from the Niagara River from the base of the American Falls. They also play music on the boat. It's a great end to a day at the Falls.
Amazing tour with history, natural wonders, and much more!

We had an amazing time on this tour. Ally is knowledgeable and energetic! We had some passengers who kept the whole group waiting despite his reminders and subsequent requests to please arrive on time at each stop, and he was professional and kept the stops going for the rest of us. We had plenty of time to explore, he was very helpful in suggesting things to see, and he continuously encouraged my friend and me to take pictures at certain points, which we are so grateful for now. I highly recommend this tour- it’s a full day, read the instructions, and you will have a wonderful experience.

The tour was amazing, this was mostly due to our great tour guide, his name was Ale, he made the tour fun, he gave out a lot of details about the city, history, and buildings. He was patient and kind and he knew every spot like the palm of his hands so transportation was am ease. The bus was comfy and warm even though it was cold outside and we were able to take a lot of pretty places and even see the fireworks. Thank you so much !

We had such a great time the host made accommodations to pick us at a closer location to save us a long drive in the ice and snow. Fabio was an extremely knowledgeable guide and enjoyed his company.
It was cool

Had a few set backs due to the weather, but all and all it was a cool. Tour guide was cool and very knowledgeable, and tried his best to work around all the curve balls being thrown at us. I was thoroughly satisfied with this tour.
